UNMANNED GROUND VEHICLE PLATFORM DEVELOPMENT
Amtech Aeronautical has a proven experience in the modification and conversion of several vehicle platforms to a controllable remotely operated vehicle in conjunction with DRDC Suffield including a six wheeled skid steer all-terrain vehicle, a hydraulically actuated bobcat excavator, as well as several other specially designed test platforms. Amtech can also provide custom software development and troubleshooting for the integration of various other system components including navigation, audio/video transmission, custom sensors, vision processing and tracking, driving remotely, autonomous operation as well as any special function unique to the platform being controlled. WALDEN HEIGHTS, MEDICINE HAT
Walden Heights is a designated Senior Assisted Living Facility owned and operated by AgeCare (www.agecare.ca/walden.html). From the two phases of construction there are currently 167 single unit living spaces on four floors as well as several common areas including a TV room, dining room, spa and lounge on each floor as well as a hair salon, laundry facilities and a kitchen. VIKING DHC-6 SERIES 400 PHASE 2A AVIONICS UPGRADE CERTIFICATION
Amtech design and certification personnel working as part of an integrated Viking Air Limited (VAL) engineering team supported Viking's Transport Canada certification of the Phase 2A Avionics Upgrade on the DHC-6 Series 400 (Twin Otter). This upgrade includes upgrades to the Honeywell Primus Apex EFIS for integrated primary flight displays, a flight director and a three-axis digital autopilot as well as a number of other optional capabilities including dual flight management systems, synthetic vision, ADS-B out capability, SBAS GPS with LPV approach capability, and a 512 Word FDR. HERITAGE HEIGHTS, MEDICINE HAT
Heritage Heights is a four storey independent Senior Living Facility which currently has 61 condominium suites and amenities rooms. (http://www.southcountryvillage.ca/heritage-heights/about.php). On the controls side there are approximately 120 physical inputs and outputs in addition to several dozen points from either BACnet or Modbus enabled devices including the main boilers and underground parkade gas monitoring devices. TECHNICAL DESIGN AND TRIALS SUPPORT FOR ENERGETIC DEVICES
Amtech Aeronautical continues to provide both on-site and off-site support to assist in the design, analysis, fabrication and modification of new and existing test facilities, including instrumentation, diagnostics and procurement of a variety of custom materials used in the development of energetic devices for trials being conducted at DRDC Suffield. Experimental support includes design and manufacturing of ancillary components and test apparatuses used during the conduct of trials. These trials support the studies of high energy explosive phenomena using a variety of energetic materials, high compression device assemblies, explosive detection devices and explosive neutralization devices.
PRATT AND WHITNEY FAST SYSTEM INSTALLATION CERTIFICATION
Working with Pratt and Whitney Canada and Pratt and Whitney Engine Services, Inc., Amtech has obtained TCCA, EASA, and FAA Supplemental Type Certificates for the installation of the Pratt and Whitney Flight Data Acquisition Storage and Transmission (FAST) System on Augusta model AB139 and AW139 helicopters.
HELICOPTER PERFORMANCE MONITORING SYSTEM INSTALLATION CERTIFICATION
Aero-Dyne Repair Services Ltd. has developed a Helicopter Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) for a large number of helicopter models. Amtech has supported Aero-Dyne's installation certification requirements for these modifications resulting in the issue of a number of serialized and full Supplemental Type Certificates.
BASLER BT-67 (TURBOPROP DC3C) SKI INSTALLATION CERTIFICATION
Amtech has supported Basler Turbo Conversions of Oshkosh, Wisconsin for the Transport Canada installation certification of Transport Category and Restricted Category ski installations on the Basler turboprop DC3C. The ski modification has been approved for high altitude takeoff and landing operations and has been used operationally in extreme environments in the Canadian arctic and from Antarctic ice plateaus.
